The incentive of ASFK is to make skills in art and design more applicable to the wider sphere in early education. These skills which generally only come into our realm of knowledge in early adult life, if acquired earlier, could give young people more of an insight into the future creative industries available and of favour to them.

It derives from a realisation that the education of art and design in schools is outdated and out of sync with the current creative sphere.

There is a need for further knowledge and acquisition of skills from a young age in order that young people are able to experiment with, and thus mould their creative directions into a possible career path.
